A dark sky hangs above a rock-scattered seashore, promising wild weather. Where the light gleams is a celebration of a glorious sky. Layers of cloud bear down on the viewer, who is almost dragged into the landscape by the scattered rocks that appear to unfold before one’s eyes, spilling into the landscape, and stretching out to the moody horizon. The soft rendering of the rocks evokes fabric, rather than hard minerals, speaking to their availability; despite their strength the forces of weather and of time, gradually alter the contours of these ancient forms, a reminder that there is strength in change.
